Wellbeing, health and safety...

We work hard in Brynhyfryd Primary School to try and ensure the highest levels of child wellbeing, health and safety. In order to work in partnership with us we would ask that parents:

:

  • encourage the children to take reasonable care for their own health and safety at school and of their peers, teachers, support staff and any other person that may be at school.
  • Cooperate with teaching and support staff and follow all health and safety instructions given to parents and children when on school premises.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare.
  • Report to a teacher or other member of school staff any health and safety concerns that they may have.

Ways to help...

  • Keep up-to-date with our learning on Dojo. We will share what we have been learning each week with pictures and examples. If you can, support your child by continuing this learning at home.
  • Read regularly at home. This is so important! Ask questions about they have read. You will find helpful questions to ask at the front of their home reading diary.
  • Learning at home should be fun and practical. Help your child by involving them in fun tasks at home such as baking, calculating distances and times, walks exploring our beautiful country etc... share pictures with us on Dojo - we love to see what you've been getting up to!
  • We live in a digital world, but it is also so important to work towards digital balance. Limit screen time.
  • Promote independence.
  • Ensure there are clear boundaries for your child's behaviour at home. Help them to know what you expect of them and what is acceptable or not in different places at different times.
  • Help us make sure that your child feels and knows that they are loved and safe both with you and in school.
  • Talk to us! We're always here to help in anyway we can.
