Who are we?

Drop-off and collection:

The entrance and exit for families to our Nursery Site is located off Pentre-Treharne Road. The Nursery Site adjoins other main school sites, and access for staff and children is used as appropriate throughout the school week. Please phone 01792 483870 and select option 2 to get put through to Nursery staff.

Weekly timetabling:

Morning session- 9.00-11.30am

Afternoon session-12.30-3.00pm

Library visits- the local library is visited every other Friday during the school day. You will be told when these visits will start.

Notes for families:

  • We have a healthy snack time each day when children can eat fruit and drink milk or water. Families send in 2 pieces of fruit to school with their children on Monday and this is then washed and distributed at relevant break points each day.
  • For health and safety, children should be brought to school by families with appropriate clothing including waterproof coats with hoods on days when it might rain, warm coats when it could be cold, sunhats, sunglasses and sun-screen on days when it is particularly sunny and footwear that is suitable for wearing both in and out of doors.
  • Children will be outdoors in all weather so we ask for each child to wear appropriate clothing everyday.
  • During our Well-Being Wednesday sessions, children will be required to wear Wellies. This will be communicated via Class Dojo.
  • Our piggy-bank: Every Monday the children can bring in a donation of 20p towards our toy fund or their Golden Friday treats.
  • Class Dojo: We use Class Dojo as a way of communicating with parents. Please download the app or see the class teacher for instructions. This is a lovely way to share photos and progress of your child. If you do not want your child to appear in any photos on Class Dojo, please advice a member of staff

Wellbeing, Health and Safety...

We work hard in Brynhyfryd Primary School to try and ensure the highest levels of child wellbeing, health and safety. In order to work in partnership with us we would ask that if your child is unwell or absent from school, could you either phone the school office and leave a message or dojo the class teacher to make them aware. The Nursery staff will only allow your child to be collected by a nominated adult. If there is any change to this, please phone the school office to inform staff members of this child as we will not let your child leave with another adult without consent first.
