Weekly timetabling:
PE kit is needed for sessions every Thursday
Weekly spelling lists are given out to children on a Friday and should be learnt by the following Thursday when they will have a spelling quiz.
Children are heard reading weekly in school, so please make sure that your child brings his/her reading book and reading diary every day.
Library visits- the local library is visited half termly
Notes for families:
- The children are encouraged to enjoy a healthy snack of fruit at break time. Please send a piece of fruit in with your child each day. It is important that they stay hydrated, so please send a labelled bottle of water to school with your child.
- For health and safety, children should be brought to school by a family member. He/she should wear appropriate clothing, including a waterproof coat with a hood on days when it might rain, warm coats when it could be cold, sunhats, sunglasses and sun-screen on days when it is particularly sunny and footwear that is suitable for wearing both indoors and outdoors.

Wellbeing, health and safety...
We work hard in Brynhyfryd Primary School to try and ensure the highest levels of child wellbeing, health and safety. In order to work in partnership with us we would ask that parents:
:
- encourage the children to take reasonable care for their own health and safety at school and of their peers, teachers, support staff and any other person that may be at school.
- Co-operate with teaching and support staff and follow all health and safety instructions given to parents and children when on school premises.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare.
- Report to a teacher or other member of school staff any health and safety concerns that they may have.

Ways to help...
- Keep up-to-date with our learning on Dojo. We will do our best to share what we have been learning each week with pictures and examples. If you can, support your child by continuing this learning at home.
- Read regularly at home. This is so important! Ask questions about they have read. You will find helpful questions to ask at the front of their home reading diary.
- Learning at home should be fun and practical. Help your child by involving them in fun tasks at home such as baking, calculating distances and times, walks exploring our beautiful country etc... share pictures with us on Dojo - we love to see what you've been getting up to!
- We live in a digital world, but it is also so important to work towards digital balance. Limit screen time.
- Promote independence.
- Ensure there are clear boundaries for your child's behaviour at home. Help them to know what you expect of them and what is acceptable or not in different places at different times.
- Help us make sure that your child feels and knows that they are loved and safe both with you and in school.
- Talk to us! We're always here to help in anyway we can.
